Hi, Can you tell me if the new Microsoft Chart Controls will be installed anytime soon? http://weblogs.asp.net/scottgu/arch...l-lt-asp-chart-runat-quot-server-quot-gt.aspx Cheers Carl
ooo this looks interesting! Plus it appears they haven't messed it up by insisting on using silverlight with it!
It depends if they can work in medium trust, I've added it to my ever growing to-do list to look into.
I've just been having a quick look at this, do they not work by putting the DLL in the /bin folder? With .Net assemblies it is always best to do that wherever possible.
Don't think it's as easy as putting the DLL in the /bin folder, because the new Microsoft Chart Controls requires the SP1 for the .NET Framework 3.5 to be installed. Also the new functionality is contained within the System.Web.DataVisualization which is installed into the Global Assembly Cache (GAC). Hope the above information helps and doesn't prevent the Microsoft Chart Controls from working in a medium trust environment.
Microsoft Chart Controls is now available on all new domains that are added to Helm. Existing domains will have it available once they have been migrated to the new servers over the next few weeks.
