I have recently been using Joomla 1.7 to create my website. The sites installed fine but I found I was getting FastCGI timeout errors when updating Joomla or installing extensions. This is getting a lot worse as the sites are now very slow to load and more often than not give the same error. FastCGI Error The FastCGI Handler was unable to process the request. Error Details: •The FastCGI process exceeded configured activity timeout •Error Number: 258 (0x80070102). •Error Description: The wait operation timed out. HTTP Error 500 - Server Error. Internet Information Services (IIS) I have searched the Joomla forums but most of the fixes are either server side or no longer relevant as there refer to older visions of Joomla I have a number of other sites that are using Joomla 1.5 and these are all fine.
