To use FeedBurner or not ??

I'm looking for any advise or experience please re using Feedburner before I jump in...

Issue : I want to know how many people have subscribed to my blog (OK, its zero today but one day it'll be useful !!)
Solution : Looks like I need to use Feedburner to get this details as I can't seem to find it in Wordpress ?
Problem : This'll make 3 stats systems that I'll have... Google Analytics for overall site measurement, Stats within Wordpress for people reading on my site and FeedBurner for subscriber stats. Its also just more add-ins and systems...

So, does anyone know... do I need feedburner ? Please share any good or bad opinions.

I have good things to say about feedburner. No problems what ever. Another advantage is that feedburner is taking the hit rather than digging into your bandwidth. I believe it checks to see if there are any updates over a certain period of time.

I use it for my personal blog, my podcasts, podcast kicks and a couple of other sites :)

Not sure about Feedburner as I don't use it (yet) but Re: your 3 stats systems - can't you dump Google Analytics and use the CSNM provided SmarterStats instead?
You'll probably find it much more accurate as it gets it's data directly from the server logs.

"Dump Google Analytics" !!! What ??? I've become quick hooked to GA and so stepping away was just not something I'd considered. And surely just switching to SmarterStats would just replace one with another ?

I found a plugin that pulls both your feedburner & GA stats into wordpress & that was more by accident than trying so I bet there are more out there, so I'm perhaps less worried about 3 systems than I was....

Also looked at a couple of blogs I subscribe to and they also provide feeds via feedburner and as they are big sites I'll take their lead & sign up....

Sort of... but SmarterStats doesn't involve placing code on your pages and you lose the annoying "Transferring data from www.google-analytics.com..." on every page load.

Plus it'll track page views from non-JavaScript enabled devices.
