Website Design Agreement (WDA)

Hi guys,

For those of you who are well established as a professional web designer, do you provide a document to the customer asking them to sign it which says who actually owns the website??

I've been thinking about providing a document for customers to sign to say that I still own all copyright to the images and such, but the site itself belong to the customer. Perhaps I've left it a little late in doing this but wondered what everyones thoughts would be on this.

Also is there any information that could point me in the right direction?

I used to do some web deign and had a contract I used but it dodn't specify copyright on content or images. I wrote the content for the customer as part of the service (also for SEO purposes) but as the content can change I'm not sure how that would work.

As for images, their copyright can vary depending on where they come from. If you provided the images and have copyright on them you could mention it in the contract but you don't have to in order to retain your rights.
