    Default New HDD

    Ok,

So I've needed a new hard drive for a looong time now. Not because my current IDE drives are in bad nick, as they work as new. However, my system is becoming unstable and is due a system reboot. This means clearing off everything and reinstalling all my games, programs, backing up all my GIGS of websites, files, music and all.

Now, rather than just doing a pure reboot, I thought well because I want to upgrade my system I might as well get a SATA drive ready for my upgrade.

My problem is, I'm unsure as to which drive to get. I have spotted the drive below on ebuyer and is my favourite drive so far. Any thoughts on which drive to get??

I'd go either Seagate or Western Digital for reliability, anything but a Maxtor!

    Thanks for that,

I've read some of the reviews on the site and quite a few people have said the drive is very noisy. I think I'll stick with the WD one, even if it means cutting the warranty by 2 years.

    Cheers,

I normally go for Seagates too especailly as they've got a long warranty but I've just bought a pair of Samsung Spinpoint 500GB SATAII drives for my main development machine and am very impressed so far.

They're much faster, much quieter and much cooler than my old pair of Seagate 200GB SATAI drives.

Luckily for Smarts Garment CO.,LTD you left the links to the site in Adam's quote ;-)

Why would someone bother spamming a forum with links to a minority interest site that takes forever to load???
