CSN IRC chat

Not suggesting you do away with your current web live chat thingy .

But its a bit limited at times and would much prefer a CSN IRC channel as it would be a lot easier to pop in and out at times .

If you dont want to host it yourself - there are plenty of irc servers you can start your own room and be the admin of it and auto op yourself etc .

Although not being a irc junkie i cant actually point you anywhere :-)

However , Rather than asking anybody who joins the channel if they need help would be a bit of drag at times as the user would have to reply - sometimes its good just to join and check back every 30 minutes or whatever for any chat and scroll up if wanted .

A welcome message when you join the channel saying summit like "if you need help then just type in your problem" etc sort thing would appear to be ideal .

Don't really know much about IRC, Thing is its probably not worth it as we only have a few hours a day when we can use live chat, as we deal with tickets, accounts etc.

I will bear it in mind though.

Install something like HydraIRC and have a quick play around with the basic functions .

/join #glasgow

This will take you to a room called "glasgow" .


IMS you can create your own permanent csnewmedia room via the website below and you can make yourself the admin of it etc .
