Not a easy thing to learn is it .



Anybody who builds websites always think there own websites are the best and its everybody else who is doing wrong .



Its probably also safe to say that most people tend to stick to the same basic layout and only make a few changes here and there so it looks a bit different to the other websites they do .



Any other general comments on the subject ? .

Design wise i think i not bad! It's all this PHP & ASP business style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif



All my website's are different and i'm always trying new things.

I did the above website by way of a web design exercise and spent some time working on the shopping cart layout .



IMHO the carts on most commercial e websites look bloody awful .



Always meant to return to it and work on the view basket screen but never got around to it .

What gave you that idea? Have you not seen all the websites out there that allow people to comment on your website, people would not use them if they thought nothing was wrong with their website.



In the professional world of web design, a website is designed in about 20 minutes and then the images are made which takes about 2 days and then the template takes about 3 days (depending on how much testing takes place) and then the website is made dynamic, if needed, which could take weeks. Once everything is set up there is no going back. Problems are resolved over a longer period of time to the expense of the client.



I use a PHP base system that automatically creates all the pages I need for me, I use then create a header and footer file that is used on every page. Once all that is set up I get to work on the design for each page. It is not true to say I use the same programming for every website I make, it is similar or based on the same prinicples but with every website I make a learn something new and add it to the following I make.
