Joomla friendly?

Hi just checking to find out if the server is run in safe mode or not? My current hosts run the servers in safe mode and Joomla extensions are a right pain trying to install with safe mode turned on.

So.. trying to find a more Joomla friendly server. I know the new Joomla 1.5 is ok with safe mode on but the stability and support for extensions is some ways away still.

Any info or advice, appreciated.
