I use Outlook Express 6 with Win XP. Never been a problem but suddenly today when I try to launch OE I get an error message saying that the file is missing and giving error code 0x80004005,1400
I have searched for a solution but no joy.
Run anti virus etc. All ok. Any suggestions welcome.

Glad you managed to sort it.
How did you fix it?

Copied all .dbx files to a new folder on my desktop.
Shut down and restarted the computer.
Opened Outlook Express. (It opened)
Imported the .dbx files back into it.
All fixed.
I have no idea why it went wrong or why the above fix worked.

I've used it for a while, good but it only backs up the email folders. It does not backup email account info, contacts, calendar and the like. I sync them with my phone which acts just like a backup

You can synchronise Contacts, calender & Tasks with Webmail too.
