A few small updates to Crux CMS:
Now works when installed in a sub-directory Absolute URL hyperlinks (good for SEO apparently) Meta-tag updates, can have global tags across the whole site, or choose to have individual ones on each page (SEO thing)
For anyone who already has a copy, there is an update package available which won't wipe any settings etc. and saves re-installing, just click the Check For Updates button in the manager

Hi Andrew,
You know my site better than I do. Would you advise me to update CRUX?
I like the sound of meta tags being page specific.
Thanks,
Ray

Hi Ray,
Some of the updates will work on your site (the meta-tag ones), the others would need more work because you have a customized version

Another quick SEO update:
Auto-generating sitemap: sitemap.php
Auto-generating robots.txt which points to the sitemap
If you have already installed the last update, drop me an email and I'll send the files and instructions for the new one (Ray, I've already installed yours)

I'll probably look into adding a file manager too when I get a free minute, would anyone want something like this added?

Andrew thought I would give your CMS software a try so downloaded and installed on my home test server, W2K3 IIS6, PHP5 and MySQL 4.1. Problem, when I get to step 5 in the installation I get the following error:
Installation Complete.
I cannot connect to the database because: Access denied for user 'ODBC'@'localhost' (using password: NO)
Not to sure where user ODBC comes from as I set the database user to root?
I have a few other PHP/MySQL apps running on the server fine. Any pointers as to what the problem is? Also, what files to I need to make writable to the IUSR account?
Sorry if this is not the right place to ask this but could not find any support forums on your CMS site.

Hi,
Can you open "includes/dbdetails.php" and see if it has picked up your mysql details ok?
The installer uses fopen to save this data, so it could be that causing the problems.
If it is missing, drop me an email and I'll send instructions to get you running

Cheers Andrew, making that file writable by the IUSR internet guest user account fixed it, now off for a play around. :D

Did everything complete ok when installing?
If you have access to the database, check what is in the Users table
I keep meaning to add a global admin account, will probably add that in the next update

Everything installed ok, checked the user table data and it is ok. I give the IUSR internet guest user account full write permissions to the includes folder are there any other files/folders I should give this too?

That should be it, the login uses php sessions to store the data
There is one thing that might be worth trying, can you let me know your email address and I'll send through a different login script

What features would people want in a file manager, just basic upload and delete, or somthing a little more advanced?
