My sister lives in a small village where broadband is not available and wants to get on the internet.
Can anyone recommend a good dial-up (pay as you go) ISP, she does not care about email address from the ISP as she has a domain, but the dial-up account has to be able to access a POP3 account not supplied by the ISP? :thumbup1:

Try this; http://www.nildram.net/dialup/options/low/ 1st class company which is why we are a Nildram partner. They do not take over your machine and have a number of schemes for dial up available. Your sister will definitely be able to access her pop 3 accounts.

Not sure about an ISP but I live in a small Village in Norfolk called Ingham. We live right out in the sticks and we did not have broadband until 3 years ago when we put a petition together. Perhaps you could get the whole village together and send the results to BT?

I've heard lots of good things about Zen.

What do you get for being a Nildram partner, can you offer Dialup internet?

Hi Carl, We offer the full range of Broadband products that Nildram supply. We do not offer dial up as it is not worth it.

We have used a number of different Broadband providers in the past but have experienced problems with them all excepting Nildram; as a resller of Broadband we need to be confident that we have no come back from our clients. BTW Zen would be the only other company we would work with although they are pricey.

For standard call-charge dial-up, I would probably go for something like Ecosse, because there is no need to sign up, just dial up with the username and password on their website.

I think Nildram are part of Pipex now sadly which put me off them when I was looking for a new supplier (broadband)

BT are meant to be improving, but I still don't trust them far (and I have to deal with them a lot, my other place of work are classed as an ISP)

BT got top marks in everything on Watchdog's ISP review thingy!

Aren't the likes of Nildram, Zen, Plus.net etc using BT's network anyway?

Hi Andrew; you are correct, Nildram is part of the Pipex group. It is however allowed to operate as an indepedent seperate and autonomous entity.
