When I got my laptop on holiday and switched it on for the first time, it asked me to register my copy of Windows, but I did not have an Internet connection at the time so tick the option to do this later.
I have just remembered about this, will it have happened automatically or do I need to do?

Hi Steven,
You will need to manually activate your copy of windows by going to start > all programs > accessories > system tools > activate windows. You can do this over the internet or by phone for free.
To test if you have activated windows you can try downloading some software from Microsoft.com which asks you to validate your copy of windows.
Hope this helps,

To be honest wouldn't be suprised if when you got to activate it, it already is.

Yeah but it has come right back round to bit him in the...
Some people found a way to emulate the bios of vendors that issue pre-activated PC's and now Vista is crackable...
His sneakyness doesn't pay off this time!
